AN EXERCISE IN NAMING NAMES

This is where it gets interesting. At our last Church Meeting this September I handed out forms for the people in our church to fill in to tell us who they are, how they came to the church, what they do for the church and the community. These are the words from those willing to put something down on our small profile page so far.

Arthur

I am young blonde and 6'2", that's not quite true, I am grey 5'6" and an antique. When we (Arthur and Mary) met Geoff and Di, they told us of this church and we liked the sound of what was said and here we are. It is like no other church that I have been to in that everyone is so friendly and it is a family atmosphere. I carry out little maintenance jobs at the church and try to help out where I can. I'm frightened to say no to anything as Shirley bullies me.

As an aside, the website designer received a further message from Arthur to make a special mention of his three children

I had three beautiful children James, Philip and Julia, whom I was very proud of and I loved them so much but then they were called into heaven. I miss them more than words would ever say, but have been left with such wonderful memories of our time spent together and these no one can take away from me.

Sharon

Have lived in Frampton for nearly 45 years. Attended chapel intermittently with my late husband, but became more involved following his death in 2008. I enjoy the friendship and support within the Chapel community and try to involve myself in as many aspects of the chapel as possible. I am on the cleaning rota, organiise the flower rota and help with coffee mornings and Lenten and Autumn lunches. I also enjoy participating in readings during the services, serving communion occasionally and being a choir member.

Gwen

I am Gwen Hewlett, mother of Rose and grandmother to her daughters Heather and Nickee.  They both have 2 children Ollie (3) and Ben (nearly 2) and Thomas (10) and Poppy (8).  The latter two used to come to Sunday School before George and Zara, and by the time you put this up on the website, they will have a baby brother or sister.

I came to The Congregational Church because Rose was working for the Estate and thought that we should come and live near her in the village, this was 2002.  My husband - Thomas or Tom - has roots in the village his great great grandfather having built the Chapel.  In fact Tom is buried under the Tower at St Mary's with his great grandfather and mother and grandfather and mother.  His grandparents lived in Brook House which is in the lane under the arch near the Bistro.

I have another daughter, Caroline, who is married to Nigel and they live in Dorset where she is a music teacher at a Middle School in Dorchester.  Nigel works as a Finance Director for a firm in Poole.  They have two offspring Katherine (Kat) and David both live away.
