OUR CONGREGATION

Rev Nick Gleich has been preaching at Frampton Congregational Church for a number of years under the tutelege of Rev John Hunter. As Rev John Hunter passed away Rev Nick Gleich has taken the reigns for the last few years but will be retiring end of 2018. He has a passion for our church and its mission to bring the message of God through Jesus to anyone who wishes to hear more about Him. Nick guided us through the Old Testament in 2017 within the structure of his services, which has proven to be an interesting a history lesson as much as a religious and social teaching. Through 2018, it was a little more even between New Testament and Old Testament readings, he ended his term with us in January 2019.

Our Ministry Team currently take it in turns to do sermons or take whole services. Take a look at our services schedule to see who will be taking the sermon or service. You can meet most of the ministry team at any Sunday service, we are regular attendants!

Our Secretary is Sue Cowley, she is responsible for looking after any church related business and notices. She does a fantastic job of keeping us all up to speed as to what is going on in the local area and within our church. You can find her giving out the notices most Sundays or taking down the minutes at our church meetings.

Our treasurer is Mary Naylor, she is responsible for totting up the monies and watching over our acocunts.

Our Musical Director is Trevor Vick is also our organist and musical director as well as being a key member of the ministry team. Without him our musical evenings will not be so inspired.

Our Congregation correspondence and protection verifier is Sue Cowley. She goes along to area meetings with other churches within the congregation and reports back to our church. She is a part of our voice within the federation.

The Sunday School Team are Shirley Hunter and Maureen Griffiths who have been looking after the Sunday School for many a year. We are proud to have a Sunday School that still runs most Sundays, but we would always be happy for more to attend.

OUR CHURCH

The main Church building was built in 1776 by a local builder Daniel Hewlett. The adjacent schoolroom was built about 100 years later. There has been added since, the more recent additions of a new prayer room with entrance hall and disabled toilets. The church boasts a brand new stage and pulpit which was installed by 2013. We have renovated the balcony seating in the main Church building to accommodate more people for our church services and very popular entertainment evenings, which was complete in time for our special service on 21st April 2019.

The church is accommodated with a very modern and efficient central heating system. We also have a very well equipped kitchen with brand new cooker, which is very important for all the catering that we do for our Lenten lunches, autumn lunches, harvest suppers and other events that require catering such as our entertainment evenings. We have recently had installed a brand new entertainment system which includes an induction loop for the hard of hearing.

Our Sunday service begins at 10 am and lasts for 1 hour. Currently our services are taken predominantly by our ministry team taking it in turns to take on services. We also hold a few people services taken by the congregation dotted throughout the year. See our sermon schedule for more information on our services.

Everyone joins in the first quarter of an hour of the service and then the children (who can be accompanied by mum and dad, should they choose to accompany their children) leave for the adjacent schoolroom to undertake various activities. The adult service normally includes a mixture of traditional and contemporary hymns, a children's story, any church and local notices, collection, prayers, bible readings, a short address and finally a benediction hymn to close.

Since there are no ritual responses or real formalities, anyone attending will immediately feel at ease. You are able to take part if you wish, to be as involved as you desire either in the services themselves and/or the running of the church, or if you wish to just come and watch and listen, either way you are guaranteed a friendly, warm welcome.

Holy communion is open to all who come. Holy Communion is celebrated on the third Sunday of the month and all believers are invited to take part. The bread and wine are handed round by a steward, the wine is served in individual glasses.

Weddings, baptisms and funerals take place by arrangement.

There is a Coffee Morning on the last Friday of each month at 10 - 12pm

Lenten Lunches for charity on every Friday through Lent at 12 - 2 pm

Autumn Lunches for Church Funds in September/October.
